Today we did another full day trip outside of London with Viator. We had to be at the meeting point at 7:00 AM. We took the tube to the Gloucester Road Tube Station (Kensington area). We waited outside Stanhope Arms pub opposite the station exit. Very easy to find. It was a good size group of people, and we boarded a bus and headed to Stonehenge. About an hour out of London, we stopped at a rest area/gas station where we were able to stretch and get some coffee, snacks, and use the restroom. When we arrived at Stonehenge there wasn't very many buses or people that close to opening hours. We had 1 1/2 hours to explore Stonehenge, visit the Visitor Centre and museum. They also had a small area for food and sitting area to eat. We were able to listen to the story about Stonehenge on our phones and didn't need a guide.
Second half of the trip was to Bath Abbey; the guide explained its significance as home to the only natural hot springs in England and how these hot springs have shaped the course of the city's history over centuries. From the Romans to the Georgians, the people of Bath have all left their own unique marks on the city. Our guide gave us a walking tour of the city, where we had a more in-depth insight into its fascinating architecture and intriguing past. After the tour we were own our own where we could have gone to the Roman Baths, the Jane Austen Centre or roam the town on our own. We decided to explore the town and find somewhere to eat lunch. After we all gathered back at the bus we headed back to London.
The 5 nights in London was enough for a first trip to the city and outlining areas. We would like to go back in a couple of years to explore other areas of London that we didn't see on this trip. The weather at the end of September was in the 40s and low 50s would be nice to come when the weather is a little warmer but, we were lucky and didn't have any rain or freezing weather.

Interesting building where there are angels climbing up a ladder on both outer sides of the building.
