Day 1 - Porto Portugal Travel Guide -Best Things to Do, Food & River Walks

The InterContinental Hotel Porto offers a breakfast buffet in the morning in their restaurant they also have a menu if you want to order a cooked to order breakfast, which is located off the reception area. After we ate, we located a coffee shop a few blocks away that had really good coffee. In the late morning, we met with the two guides, Melondy and Augusta, and went over what to expect the next 9 days. Afterwards we went and walked down by the river, Rio Douro, and crossed over to the other side. On the way back to the hotel, we stopped at a cafe for lunch where we had a burger and fries and a salad with chicken. It was okay the salad was very salty even the lettuce.

We met in the reception area at 5:00 PM, for the welcome reception and dinner at the hotel. We had drinks and appetizers out on the lawn behind the hotel/restaurant with fellow Adventures. Dinner was a buffet, and the food was mediocre. Before we dished up dinner, we went around introducing ourselves.
