Oxford and Traditional Cotswolds Villages Day Tour

Today we did another tour with Viator where we took a 16 seat Mercedes mini coach to two traditional Cotswolds Villages and then went to the University City of Oxford. The meeting point was not very clear in the directions, and we just made it to the meeting point with a couple minutes to spare before they would have left us. We had to meet at Stance 3 in the Greenline Coach Station and when we put in the direction's app Green Line Coach Station, we were directed to another location it was close to the correct spot. After asking someone they directed us to the bus station, where we meet the mini coach. The driver did call me to see where we were at but, I didn't hear my phone with the street noise. The two villages that we went to were Burford and Bibury, we spent 45 minutes at each location. In Burford we wandered the small market town with enormous character and a huge history. The main street is lined with gorgeously quaint cottages and properties. Where we found a coffee/bakery shop and had some coffee and then looked around some shops and then ended up at a old church and graveyard before meeting back at the mini coach.

Then we headed to Oxford where we spent around 2 hours. We went and had lunch at the Turf Tavern which has a rich history it opened its doors back in 1381. It has served everyone from literary greats like C.S. Lewis to movie stars such as Richard Burton and Elizabeth Taylor. The tavern is tucked down a narrow passageway. They are a family friendly spot and had a generous food menu and generous range of real ales, beers, and wines. They had some indoor seating as well as outdoor beer garden. I had the hamburger and fries while my husband had fish and chips. The portions were very large and delicious. After lunch we wandered around town and found a store called WHSmith and inside they had a Toys R Us store. It was a lot smaller than the old Toys R Us stores in the States and they mostly had party stuff and wrapping paper and greeting cards. I didn't see many toys to really be considered a toy store. After 2 hours we meet up and drove back to London.

Day 1 - Porto

The hotel offers a breakfast buffet in the morning in their restaurant, which is located off the reception area. After we ate, we located a coffee shop a few blocks away that had really good coffee.
