Natural History Museum & Central Park

Checked out of our hotel and went to grab an Uber to drop off our luggage at a luggage storage spot near the Natural History Museum in New York City. Had a little problem with that because a 5K running race was about to start couple blocks from our hotel and the streets were closed in the area. So, we had to walk about a mile to an area where an Uber could pick us up. Still, it took at least 30 minutes before the driver could get to us with the streets closed and traffic. The first 2 drivers gave up and cancelled the ride. Finally, the third driver picked us up. It took a while to get to the luggage storage spot. Dropping off the luggage was a quick and painless procedure and a safe place to leave your luggage where it will be secure and locked up. The natural history museum was across the street, and we had bought tickets ahead of time and at that time of day there was no lines and we were able to walk right in. The highlights of the museum were the vast and diverse collections of one of the world's most renowned museums. When we were on the cruise ship one night the movie "Night at the Museum" was on so we watched it knowing we were going to be at the museum when we were in New York City. The dinosaur exhibit is the largest that I have ever seen. The museum has over 40 permanent exhibition halls and we could have spent a lot more time here but, we also wanted to walk around Central Park and the hotel we were spending the night at was near JFK airport which was 60-90 minutes away depending on traffic. It was the last full day of our month-long vacation, and we had an early flight out of JFK the next morning. We stayed at the Hyatt Regency JFK Airport at Resorts World New York. It was a combination of a hotel, casino, and three on-site dining outlets. It was only 6 miles from JFK and had a shuttle to the airport our flight took off at 7:20 AM so, it was nice that we didn't have to travel very far to get to the airport.
