After are stay in London we headed to Southampton to take a transatlantic cruise to New York city on the Cunard Mary II. For seven days we sailed without any port stops.
We hired a driver online before we left home from the company Mozio. I received a message beforehand providing us with the driver's name, number, picture, and vehicle's plate number, color, make, and model. We were picked up at 11:00 AM in front of our hotel. The drive was supposed to be around 2 hours but, it took a little longer to get out of London with road work going on. But we were in no hurry because check in for the hotel was at 3:00PM. We arrived around 1:30 PM and the room was ready, so we dropped off our luggage and went and had lunch at the hotel restaurant, HarBar on 6th. There aren't very many restaurants near the hotel. We weren't very hungry for dinner seeing that we had a late lunch. There's a little store nearby, so we grabbed sandwiches. We found the next morning a Starbucks for breakfast and a mall not far from there. If you forget anything for your cruise you probably can find it at this mall.
Southampton is famous primarily for its deep maritime history, most notably as the departure point for the Titanic in 1912, and the Mayflower in 1620, serving as a major UK cruise port and historically significant naval base.
